Rafting in Kazakhstan is not a new phenomenon—it has been a part of outdoor sports here since 1997 when a Kazakhstan team took part in the Camel White Water Challenge.  Two years later, a group of young rafters pioneered two routes along the Turgen and Chilik rivers near Almaty; these have remained the most popular destinations for commercial tourism ever since.  Tourists first began rafting along the Turgen river in 2001, and since then the route has become more popular due to its speed and rapids. Competitions, team building, weekend tours—rafting has helped many people from athletes to office employees to escape their comfort zones.  We have several well-tested routes that will be popular with anyone from kids to adrenaline junkies. You choose!
